Please answer the question below: Question: Chapter 9 discusses social stratification and global inequality. If we conducted a simulation exercise in class, 15% of you would represent the high income group, 30% of you the middle income group, and the remaining 55% the lowest income group. These percentages are based on approximate real world percentages of people in these various groups. This simulation would demonstrate the vast inequality that exists in our world. The United Nations Development Program reported in 1998 that the world’s 225 richest people now have a combined wealth of $1 trillion. That’s equal to the combined annual income of the world’s 2.5 billion poorest people. Further, in 1998, 20% of the world’s people living in the highest-income countries accounted for 86% of total private consumption expenditures while the poorest 20% accounted for only 1.3 percent.
What theory or theories might a sociologist use to explain this vast disparity? What do you feel is the cause of this? What are some potential solutions which leaders in the field cite to address this problem of inequality?

There is no action that does not create a reaction(laws of physics) when a person is born to wealth it is easy to grossly misunderstand the true meaning of poverty and even those of us who are not wealthy have become immune to the pain of others. In our capatalist country which I love but admit that there are major flaws, the boundaries are flexible and therefore attract the masses. Yes, we do spend without regard for the next, but the number one question that always comes to my mind is: If a family barely has any means to provide for themselves why then would they keep reproducing with out taking into account their current situation. I mean social darwinism is not viewed as a good thing yet at the same time when does ones personal responsibility go into effect for the situation one finds themselves in? Also as was mentioned in class today, dyfusion of responsibility is happening with many little countries around the world. I mean the U.S.A should help but when is it going to stop, at what point do we stop being the saviors of the world without putting or own economy into a recession? The best explanation in chapter nine is the one given by Davis & Moore, theirs alway going to be stratification across any time of economy.
in my opinion, i think that sociologists will use the thoery of 'nature'. Why because i think that been poor or rich depend on nature. Everybody is not egualo regardless of their education and hard works. The cause of this disparity is the ineuality of our society. Some people have the opportunity and some don't have. Some are rich and some are poor is just how God Created human kind. Am not saying that God created people to be poor, but is just nature. For instance, doctors vs nurses. Doctors earn more than nurses, so doctos are richer than nurses. I know that some nurses do earn more than doctors depending on their specialization, however, doctors have many ways of making their money by opening a clinic and as well work in the hospital, which nures cannot do.Another causes of this is the fact that we live in a capitalist society and everybody wants to get more than the other. I think that the only solution to fix this roblem is if the soceity can go back to be a comunist soceity. Whereby nobody earns more than the other. Also for those that have no job can do something.Another posible solution is by making jobs available for the less fortunates and pay everybody egaul amount of money.
